PCT AND GLOBAL PATENT SEARCH SERVICES<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Visegrad Patent Institute carries out two types of services. The International Search, Supplementary International Search, International-type Search and International Preliminary Examination services<\/strong> are carried out in the capacity of the VPI as International Searching Authority and International Preliminary Examining Authority under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT)<\/strong> for applicants who are nationals or residents of one of the Visegrad Countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovak Republic), Serbia or Lithuania.
The Global Patent Search Services<\/strong> are carried out under the Agreement on the Visegrad Patent Institute<\/strong> for any interested party worldwide.<\/a><\/p>\n

International Search (IS)<\/h2>\n

The international search (IS) is carried out by an International Searching Authority (ISA) concerning an international patent application which is filed with a Receiving Office (RO), in order to find the most relevant prior art documents<\/strong> regarding the claimed subject matter in the application.<\/p>\n

International Preliminary Examination (IPE)<\/h2>\n

The international preliminary examination is (also referred to as \u201cChapter II\u201d) is an optional<\/strong> part of the processing of an international patent application and can be used in order to obtain a preliminary and non-binding opinion as to whether the claimed invention appears to be novel, to involve an inventive step and to be industrially applicable.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The supplementary international search offers applicants the choice to request additional searches from ISAs<\/strong> other than the one that carried out the initial PCT search to obtain a more complete overview of the prior art in the international phase.<\/strong><\/p>\n

NOVELTY SEARCH WITH PRELIMINARY PATENTABILITY REPORT (NSPPR)<\/h2>\n

The novelty search with preliminary patentability report identifies patent documents and other publications that can be taken into account for the assessment of novelty and inventive step<\/strong> of the invention described, and gives a detailed reasoned opinion<\/strong> on whether the invention meets the three criteria for patentability (novelty, inventive step and industrial applicability<\/strong>) for a flat fee within 4 weeks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

VALIDITY SEARCH SERVICE (VSS)<\/h2>\n

The Validity Search Service (VSS) offers in-depth searches of a particular patent specified by the customer that is in force (or has family members in force) in at least one country, with claims available in English.<\/p>\n

VSS identifies<\/strong> patent documents and other publications that can affect the validity of the patent<\/strong> in question. In addition, a detailed explanatory opinion is provided on whether the invention contained in the given patent meets the requirements of patentability in view of the cited prior art documents. The service is delivered based on a quote within 4 weeks.<\/p>\n

The PCT is an international treaty that makes it possible to seek patent protection simultaneously in a large number of countries by filing a single application. Granting the patent remains under the national or regional legislation.<\/p>\n
